Romanian President Traian Basescu on Friday met visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan and both sides discussed the development of bilateral relations.
Basescu said Romania-China relations have seen healthy development in nearly 60 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties. The relationship, which is based on traditional friendship, will further improve, he said.
Basescu said his country attaches importance to economic and trade relations with China and welcomes Chinese investments. The Romanian side will create favorable conditions for Chinese investors and provide assistance in terms of labor services.
He said his country sticks to the one-China policy and is opposed to Taiwan's attempts to join the United Nations.
Zeng spoke highly of Sino-Romanian relations and appreciated Romania's one-China policy. China attaches great importance to relations with Romania, and treasures friendship with people of this country, he said.
China is willing to work with the Romanian side to further develop bilateral relations, he said.
The two countries have had a good foundation for economic and trade cooperation. There is a great potential in cooperation in telecommunications, infrastructure and labor services, said Zeng.
He said China also attaches importance to mutual investments and encourages Chinese enterprises to invest in Romania. Source: Xinhua
