Wang Zhengwei was elected chairman of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region at the first meeting of the 10th Regional People's Congress, or local legislature.
Wang, of Hui nationality, is a native of Ningxia. He was born in 1957. He was appointed the acting chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in May of 2007. He is also a member of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
