Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, meets Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov on Monday.
Speaking positively of the Sino-Russian relations, Wang said the two countries are both in vital phase of development. To contiguously consolidate and promote bilateral strategic partnership of coordination is a consensus of the two countries, and is in their fundamental interest.
Zyuganov said the Russian Communist Party is a good friend of China and the Chinese people. The party will endeavor to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation, and hopes to further enhance exchanges with the CPC, so as to push forward the Sino-Russian strategic partnership of coordination.
The two officials also briefed each other on respective domestic situation.
