The Malaysian Government announced on Wednesday that it will donate 1 million U.S. dollars to help China's snow havoc victims.

"The worst snowstorm in decades ravaged most of Central and Southern parts of China ... and the conditions in the affected areas were exceptionally severe after being hit by the snowstorm." the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a press release issued at Putrajaya, administrative center of the Malaysian government.

"In this regard, the Government of Malaysia has decided to assist the Government of China in this difficult time and will donate an amount of 1 million U.S. dollars to help relieve the burden faced by the victims affected by the natural disaster," it added.

The Malaysian Government would also urge the private sector and individuals to join in this effort by donating in cash to help alleviate the sufferings of the snowstorm victims in China.
