Li Changchun, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met here Monday with Ignatenko Vitaly, director general of the ITAR-TASS Russian News Agency, and his party.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, said that China-Russian relations now witness the best ever in history.
The two countries have maintained high-level exchange of visits and fruitful cultural cooperation, and they have strengthened consultations on international and regional issues, Li said.
Li noted that media exchanges between the two countries have been vigorous in recent years, and he hoped the Russian people would know more about China as the Olympic Games would be held in Beijing this year.
