Xinjiang oilfield, the largest oilfield in China's western region, would up production by 150,000 tonnes this year to 12.32 million tonnes, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) announced on Monday.

The oilfield was set to turn out 3.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year, 600 million cubic meters more than last year, the CNPC, the country's largest oil producer, said on its website.

The company was scheduled to drill 1,508 wells in the field this year to increase the output capacity by 1.87 million tonnes.

Xinjiang oilfield is the country's fourth largest onshore oilfield, with an aggregate output of crude oil exceeding 200 million tonnes.
