The Communist Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the people's government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region introduced the "Guangxi Beibu Bay Economic Zone Development Plan" in Beijing on February 28. The "Guangxi Beibu Bay Economic Zone Development Plan" has been approved by the State Council; and will enter the formal implementation stage, announced Ma Biao, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Beibu Bay is located in the northwestern part of the South China Sea. The area includes China's coastal Guangxi, Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, Hainan to the west, and the surrounding sea northeast of Vietnam. The economic zone is centrally located at the head of Beibu Bay;and is comprised of the cities of Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang. It also includes the trasnportation and logistics of Yu Lin and Chongzuo cities.
