State Councilor Dai Bingguo met in Beijing on Tuesday with Premier of Queensland State of Australia Anna Bligh.
Dai said China and Australia are both major countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and China attaches highly importance to the development of the bilateral relations.
China is willing to work with Australia to promote a long-term, sound and stable development of the bilateral relationship of cooperation, he said.
Bligh said Queensland State highly values its relations with China and will continue to expand cooperation with China. She also wished the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games a great success.
