A grand theme exhibition "Tibet of China: past and present" opened in the Beijing Cultural Palace of Nationalities on April 30, 2008. The exhibition, which displays the old Tibet and development of the new Tibet will last for about three months to July 25. The exhibition consists of two parts: the history and Feudal slavery of Tibet, and prosperity of the present Tibet. There will be 160 pieces of precious documents history, cultural relics, 400 pictures and tables to replay the development venation of Tibet's history, showing the contrast between Tibet's past and present.
The exhibition is co-sponsored by the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, State Council Information Office, State Nationalities Affairs Commission and the People's Government of the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
The exhibition is free to the public.
