A fire alarm on a China Eastern Airlines flight during take-off on the runway at the Beijing Capital International Airport on Saturday resulted in two people being injured during evacuation, the airline told Xinhua.

The fire alarm was issued around 11:00 a.m., when the crew aborted the take-off and evacuated all the 117 passengers on board.

One passenger suffered a fracture and the other a minor injury, and both were sent to hospital.

The flight was scheduled to take off at 10:55 a.m. from the Chinese capital city and was bound for Wuhan, capital city of central Hubei Province.

After the accident, 13 passengers were transferred to other flights, while the others took the substitute flight arranged by the China Eastern Airline that took off from Beijing at 2:38 p.m.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
