Fire and subsequent explosions destroyed a chemical workshop in east China's Zhejiang Province early on Sunday, but no casualties have been reported so far.

A three-story building of Dinglong Chemical Co. Ltd., in Haining City of Jiaxing, was engulfed in flames at around 0:30 a.m. The local fire brigade sent 11 fire engines and nearly 100 firemen to the site.

Some firemen said they heard explosions at the site.

Investigators said the fire was probably caused by an equipment failure.

The investigation is still going on and authorities are calculating the losses.
