Beijing built 150,000 mu green land in 7 years

Beijing has built 150, 000 mu green land since 2001, when it successfully abtained the right to hold the 2008 Olympic Games, according to news releaseed from Beijing Municipal Bureau of Parks and Afforestation, recently.

All these new-built green land have totally fixed carbon-dioxide as much as 1.648 million tons in the past seven years, which not only improved the environment but also strenthen Beijing's capacity of carbon-dioxide fixation.

Beijing has accelerated its development on urban ecological green in order to commit to its promise of a green Olympic. The green cover percentage has been up to 43 per cent;the per capita green land is up to 48 square meters.
