A worker was rescued at 6:30 p.m. on Friday from a flattened fertilizer plant in Shifang city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, 100 hours after the earthquake on Monday that may have claimed 50,000 lives.

Firefighters from east China's Jiangsu Province pulled out the unidentified worker from the wreckage of the plant in Yinghua township, after more than 20 hours of efforts.
