New Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles Wang Weiguo presented his credentials to President James Alix Michel on Tuesday in Victoria, capital of the Indian Ocean island country.

Welcoming Wang as new ambassador to his country, Michel expressed appreciation for the recent development of relations between Seychelles and China based on mutual trust and equality, according to news reaching here.

He expressed his gratitude to the assistance provided by China and the efforts made by the Chinese leaders for promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.

The president said he hoped the mutual-beneficial cooperation will be further developed.

Wang Weiguo recalled the development of friendly bilateral relationship in the past years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in June 1976.

The ambassador told the president that he would make his best efforts to push the relationship between the two countries towards win-win partnership.

Wang Weiguo arrived in Seychelles on May 16.
