Taiwan authorities will shorten the visa processing time for professionals from Chinese mainland from two months before the scheduled arrival time to one month before the scheduled arrival time, as announced by the Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council at a press conference on July 23, 2008.

The revision will be released and made effective very soon.

The revision has been made because of the increasing numbers of professionals from the Chinese mainland traveling to China's Taiwan. In order to improve efficiency, the period between visa application and visa issuance will be limited to a month, according to Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council.
