The single most expensive insurance, under the property insurance for the Beijing Olympics, is that of the National Stadium, or the Bird's Nest. It is valued at 3.45 billion yuan, 1.5 times higher than the cost of the stadium, said Wang He, head of the insurance group for the Beijing Olympics and the vice CEO of the People's Insurance Company, on August 4.
Wang added that the insurance system will cover the whole of the Olympic Games and the Paralympics. Meanwhile, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games (BOCOG) has arranged general liability insurance for spectators.
