With special support from the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Macau Government Tourist Office, a website called "HK MC GO!" was launched in Beijing on February 24 to provide more convenient services for Beijing residents who plan to visit Hong Kong and Macau.

Beijing residents logging onto the website at www.qugangao.com can obtain greater discount offers on flights, hotels and tours. The deals they enjoy when buying plane tickets, boat tickets and admission tickets will be safer and more economical compared with the cheapest products currently available on the market.

Reporters learned that the "HK MC GO!" website carries comprehensive information on Hong Kong and Macau for the six important aspects of tourism: dining, hotel, transport, travel, shopping and entertainment. The site also promotes a series of discounted tourist products such as local Hong Kong IP phone cards, Octopus public transportation cards, coupons for airport shuttle buses, shopping coupons, the discounted admission tickets for tourist attractions, low-priced star-rated hotel rooms and discounted boat tickets.

Hong Kong media previously reported that due to the influence of the continuously weakening global economy, the total number of visitors to Hong Kong this year is expected to decline by 1.6 percent. According to some analysts, tourism is one of the important factors in expanding domestic demand and stimulating consumption. The launching of the "HK MC GO!" website provides faster and more efficient service to people visiting Hong Kong and Macau.
