Chinese senior political advisor Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit met on Thursday with a Russian delegation led by Gaynutdinov Ruvil, chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis.
Abdul'ahat, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top advisory body, said to promote the development of China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation is a common aspiration and choice of the two countries as well as the two peoples.
He called on Muslim circles of the two countries to enhance exchanges, and share experience in encouraging Muslims to contribute to social and economic development as well as the building of harmonious society.
Abdul'ahat also expressed his hope that Gaynutdinov's current China trip could further increase mutual understanding between the two peoples, and especially the two countries' Muslims.
