The Standing Committee of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's political advisory body, plans to hold its 20th session from Jan. 22-25.
The session will prepare for the 11th CPPCC National Committee's first session, said a statement issued on Tuesday after a meeting of the CPPCC chairman and vice chairpersons here Tuesday. The session was presided over by CPPCC chairman Jia Qinglin.
The meeting passed the schedule of the January session, during which political advisors will discuss the name list of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, the work report of the 10th CPPCC National Committee to be submitted to the 11th CPPCC National Committee first session and the schedule of the session.
The first session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee is a key event, since a new standing committee will be elected and the work of the new CPPCC National Committee for the next five years will be set, the statement said. Source: Xinhua
