Yu Guohua, vice mayor of Jilin city in northeastern Jilin Province, has been sacked and expelled from the Communist Party of China, according to the provincial disciplinary organ.

Yu, 49, was suspected of taking and asking for bribes, illegally owning guns and bullets, and keeping mistresses.

Local government did not give details about Yu's conduct. However, local sources said that he had at least two pistols and several million yuan in illegal gains.

After taking up the position as vice mayor of Jilin in 2004, Yu had been in charge of real estate, city planning and development.

He has been transferred to the judicial department.
