Chinese State Councilor Hua Jianmin urged counsellors of the State Council to offer more suggestions on the country's social development and cultural progress at a Spring Festival reception on Monday.

Hua praised the 32 State Council counsellors for valuable suggestions and intellectual support to the government. He also expressed thanks to the 32 members of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History for their work in research, writing, cultural exchanges and consultation.

He encouraged them to implement the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and make new contributions to building a moderately prosperous society.

Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress He Luli and Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit also attended the reception.
