The security personnel didn't carry or use any destructive weapons in dealing with the violent riot in Lhasa last Friday, said Qiangba Puncog, chairman of Tibet Autonomous Regional Government, at a news briefing in Beijing on Monday.

"The security personnel showed restraint in the entire process of handling the incident," said the regional government chief.

"In dealing with the violent riot, the security force had always been carrying out duties strictly according to law and in a civil manner", said Qiangba Puncog.
