A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called for strictly following Party discipline and firmly implementing major decisions and policies issued by the central authorities.

He urged relevant central departments to seriously implement central policies on the control of market prices, the work of energy conservation and emissions reduction, the control of investment in fixed assets, the saving and efficient use of land, and control of the real estate market.

He Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made these comments during Tuesday's workshop at the Ministry of Land Resources on implementing central policies.

He urged these departments to collaborate with local governments in carrying out central policies. He also pledged to severely punish leading officials at all levels who have been implicated in taking bribes, abusing their official positions for profit or protecting criminals.

He Yong, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the workshop.

The meeting heard reports by Zhang Ping, minister in charge of the State Development and Reform Commission; Zhou Shengxian, minister of Environmental Protection; Jiang Weixin, Minister of Housing and Urban and Rural Construction, and Xu Shaoshi, Minister of Land Resources.

The meeting was sponsored by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision.
