China's central government has appointed Lu Shumin as commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), a press release said Tuesday.

Lu takes the place of Wan Yongxiang, who had served as the commissioner in the Macao SAR since 2002.
