Chinese mainland expressed its hope that Taiwan can resume station of mainland correspondents to cover news on the island at an early date.

"We hope Taiwan can resume the station of Xinhua News Agency and the People's Daily correspondents to cover news in Taiwan soon," Yang Yi, spokesman of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council made the remarks at a press conference here Friday.
