The meeting urged the nation to do a good job in hosting the Olympics.
"No matter what difficulties and challenges we face, we should conform to the aspirations of the people of all ethnic groups and fulfill our promise to the world to host a good Beijing Olympics," said the meeting.
With less than two months before the Games open in August, "we should work even harder and be more meticulous in the preparatory work to ensure that the Games are distinctive and of a high standard," said the meeting.
The meeting urged more efforts in quake relief and resettling of survivors to create a favorable atmosphere for the Games.
Meanwhile, athletes should step up their training to achieve good results, and a friendly and hospitable trend should be fostered in society, the meeting said.
It also urged tight security work during the games.
The meeting urged increasing efforts to guarantee and improve people's livelihood.
According to the meeting, emphasis should be put on promoting employment, ensuring minimum living standards for people in difficulty, helping students from quake-affected regions to go back to classrooms, epidemic prevention in quake regions, ensuring temporary housing for people in quake regions and helping them to rebuild their homes as soon as possible, and providing housing for low-income urban families.
It asked local governments to maintain stable social order and improve capability to address conflicts and disputes. It said they should take steps to sooth the emotions of quake survivors and encourage them to devote themselves into the reconstruction work.
It urged doing a good job in maintaining social stability in Tibet and other areas inhabited by Tibetan people.
It asked leading cadres of various levels to go deep into the grass-roots, the masses and the front line to find and address sticking contradictions and problems timely.
It called for spreading the great spirit in quake relief and channel it to drive efforts to build the country, host the Olympics, and promote social harmony.
It called on cadres, especially the leading cadres, at various levels to serve the people wholeheartedly.
