The specially designed webpage of "circle of fans for 'assorted, eight-treasure rice' "(http://politics.people.com.cn/GB/8198/132796/) was released to Internet by People's Daily Online. Since People's Daily Online is subordinate website of People's Daily, which is the authorized newspaper of central government, the webpage's release is considered as an official recognition of the fans group.
The so-called "assorted rice" refers to a group of fans to back President Hu, and the "eight-treasure rice" means a group of fans in support of Premier Wen, whereas the "assorted, 'eight-treasure' rice" is naturally a general term for both groups.
On the top right of the webpage is photos of President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, setting on a background of the Great Wall and blue sky. Below are eight sections including Focus, Fans Sign-in, Classical Messages, Articles Collection, and Sincere Confession.
Characteristically, each registered users get an electronic card to manifest identity of a fans in this circle. By 11;00 p.m. on September 5, more than 12,000 users have registere. Many left messages, saying "support President and Premier", "wish President and Premier good health".
