Chinese authoritative department denied on Wednesday the rumors carried by some overseas media that the top leader of north China's Shanxi Province will be replaced.

In response to Xinhua's request for confirmation on the media report, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said the report was "utterly groundless", and "pure rumors".
