Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called on officials to conduct a thorough and extensive study of the Scientific Outlook on Development, a guiding principle for China's economic and social development.
"Theories must be linked with practice to strengthen our understanding of the concept," Xi told a conference on implementing the outlook.
This precept was introduced by the Communist Party in 2003 and written into its constitution during the Communist Party of China's (CPC) 17th National Congress in 2007.
Xi, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said officials should keep the scientific development concept in mind.
"Officials should look for emerging problems in implementing the Party's precept and issues damaging social harmony and stability," he said, adding that the public's ideas must be truly reflected so as to crystallize a collective wisdom. Source: Xinhua
