Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping Wednesday asked all Party members and government officials to find and correct problems that hamper the implementation of the Scientific Outlook on Development.
In September last year, the Communist Party of China (CPC) launched a one and a half year campaign to study and apply the Scientific Outlook on Development, which was adopted by the party at the 17th CPC National Congress in October 2007. It is considered an important guiding principle for China's economic and social development.
Now the campaign has entered the stage when officials should figure out how to solve problems that hold back scientific development, said Xi who was at a meeting in Lanzhou of northwestern Gansu Province.
"If problems can not be settled immediately, officials should explain the situation to the public. If a problem has to be solved over a long period of time, someone should be assigned to follow the process," he said.
Efforts must be made to investigate and solve major disputes among the public, he added.
Government departments should close the loopholes in present administrative systems and regulations, he added.
