Jing Shuping, former vice chairman of China's top political advisory body, died of illness in Beijing on September 14 at the age of 91 and was cremated here on Tuesday.
Jing, former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was an outstanding representative of modern Chinese industrialists and renowned social activist, said a statement issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee.
He is also an "outstanding leader of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and a close friend of the Communist Party of China" it added.
Chinese leaders and former statesmen including Hu Jintao, JiangZemin, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang had sent condolences to Jing's family.
Top leaders including Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang attended his cremation ceremony, which was held Tuesday morning at the hall of the Beijing Babaoshan Cemetery.
