President Hu congratulates CAS on its 60th founding anniversary

Chinese President Hu Jintao has written a congratulatory letter to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to mark its 60th founding anniversary.

Hu urged the CAS to keep up its leading role in building China into an innovative country and contribute more to the promotion of scientific development, read the letter forwarded to the CAS Friday.

The CAS, founded in Beijing on Nov. 1, is a leading institution and comprehensive research and development center in natural science, technological advancement and high-tech innovation in China.
