Principle of respecting China's sovereignty, territorial integrity applies to Taiwan issue: spokesman

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang on Thursday said the principle of respecting China's sovereignty and territorial integrity applied to the Taiwan issue.

Qin made the comment in response to a question concerning the recent remarks of Raymond Burghardt, chairman of the American Institute in Taiwan, at a regular press conference.

Qin reaffirmed that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory.
