Preparations for the military parade to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China are fully underway and troops participating in the parade have already begun closed door rehearsals. This is according to an interview held on March 9 with Fang Fenghui, commander of the Beijing Military Area Command.

Fang said that innovations and improvements will be made to the parade. The troops will present a magnificent parade to the world with the most distinctive features possible.

Fang also revealed that the troops participating in the 60th anniversary parade have received their tasks and started closed door rehearsals. The construction of the parade village is also underway and participating troops will soon be stationed in the village.

"According to the parade plans, the troops and armaments to be used in the parade will not be made public prior to October 1," said Fang.

Fang also noted that "Advanced armaments will be a major highlight of the parade." "However, by the time of the parade, there will be even more highlights to surprise the whole nation."
