According to Beijing Daily, China's offshore reserves of natural gas will be landing on Zhuhai and Macao. On January 14th, the China National Offshore Oil Corporation noted that Guangdong's Zhuhai - Zhongshan gas pipeline completed a 2,630-meter undersea pipeline – the world’s longest – and it successfully docked at the Modaomen passage. The Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macao regions will soon have a more adequate supply of natural gas.
The Modaomen passage is 2,630 meters long – the world's longest horizontal drilling project – and passes through the extremely complex geological environment. CNOOC Corporation Deputy General Manager Wu Zhenfang says the success of docking the world's longest undersea pipeline is a milestone of clean energy in CNOOC strategic implementation. When global land oil and natural gas are becoming scarce, a fierce rivalry between energy giants begins around the exploitation of the sea. The Huizhou / Panyu gas field, off the coast of Huizhou in the river mouth of Pearl Basin, has two-offshore gas platforms and a 369 km long and 20-inch diameter wide undersea gas pipeline. It includes a processing plant and a crude oil terminal, providing clean energy to the Pearl River Delta Region and Macao; and we expect to supply energy to Hong Kong in the long run.
