The number of China's scientific and technological talents totals about 42.46 million, ranking first in the world; China has become the sixth largest destination country for international students, according to China's first "Science and Technology Human Resources Development Report".
The report was recently issued by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, Beijing Morning Post reported.
The report shows that by the end of 2005, the number of China's science and technology talents reached 42.46 million, slightly higher than the United States (42 million), second only to the EU's 54 million.
