The Multiple Unit CRH3 from Beijing to Tianjin, with the designed speed of no lower than 350 km per hour, travelled at 380 km per hour in a recent suburban railway test, according to the Beijing Railway Authority on June 11th.

During this test, it took the CRH3 only 27 minutes to travel from Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin Station, including berth time in Yizhuang and Wuqing.

The Beijing-Tianjin suburban railway is expected to open to passengers on August 1st.

People will get the experience of taxi-ing on an aircraft runway when CRH3 starts, and feel a little dizzy when looking out the window. However, passengers can adapt to the train within a few minutes. Additionally, the CRH3 features high stability. One railway spokesperson said that if a passenger puts a cup full of water on the table, not one drop would spill out by the journey's end.
