China's first over 100 trillion times/s computer, the "Dawning 5000",developed and produced independently by the Institute of Computing Technology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dawning Co. Ltd, was developed recently.
The apex of the "Dawning 5000" supercomputer's operational speed could be 230 trillion times/s, and that of LINPACK could be 160 trillion times/s. China is the second country to have created and applied supercomputers of over 100 trillion times/s after the U.S. At this time, China's ability to produce, apply, and maintain high-performance computers have developed to a globally advanced level.
