Japan's Panasonic Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. announced on October 20 that the company has developed a new type of direct methanol fuel battery whose output capacity per unit volume is twice of its former products. This new battery is for portable devices such as laptop computers and cell phones.
Panasonic said in its press releases on October 20 that the company has improved the power generation parts, as well as auxiliary power generation electrical circuit and components of the battery, re-designed the structure, so that the battery is 50% of its original size. These adjustments increased the battery power, and can supply proper amount of fuel and air to the power generation part when required.
