The State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) and Tsinghua University jointly founded the State Research Center for Nuclear Power Technology recently, in an effort to promote research and development of important and special technologies existing in the large-scale advanced pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plant and to accelerate China's independent development of the third-generation nuclear power.
According to a report, the State Research Center for Nuclear Power Technology is the main base and research platform in China for handling such issues as third-generation nuclear power technology imports, project constructions and independent development.
It is also the main institution where research will be carried out on important and special technologies existing in the large-scale advanced pressurized water reactor.
