A new world record in the shipbuilding industry has been set in Shanghai. A 318,000 dead-weight-ton VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) "Hua San" was delivered recently in Shanghai, five months ahead of the original schedule.

The carrier is the first super oil tanker with largest weight tonnage and the latest design, completely in line with the latest Common Structural Rules formulated by the International Association of Classification Societies.
