China will complete the construction of a nationwide data-receiving network for land-based satellite observation next year, according to a Beijing Times report. The network will cover 70 percent of Asia and 100 percent of China.

As a large-scale national scientific construction project, the network will comprise three large satellite data-receiving stations located in Miyun, Kashkar and Sanya.

According to Guo Huadong, director of the Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, construction of the final data-receiving station in Sanya has already started this year and will be completed early next year.
