Rescuers recovered a sixth body from a flooded coal mine in northwest China's Shaanxi Province late on Monday, leaving three others still missing.

Altogether 14 miners were working underground when the Yaotou Coal Mine in Chengcheng County, Weinan City, was flooded at 11:40 a.m. on October 26. Five of them narrowly escaped.

Rescuers retrieved two bodies on Friday and Saturday, and another three early on Monday, according to a spokesman with the county government.

Rescuers would continue searching for the other three missing miners despite slim chances of their survival, the spokesman said.

Yaotou Coal Mine is a registered private mine with an annual output of 60,000 tons.
