Six miners confirmed dead in colliery blast in northeast China

Six people died in a coal mine blast in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province Wednesday afternoon, local government reported.

The accident happened in the No. 2 shaft of the Changcheng Coalmine Co. Ltd, in Qitaihe City at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday. All the six miners working underground were confirmed dead.

The rescue work has been concluded and local authorities are looking into the cause of the accident.
