Two more locations were added Sunday to the network of city check-in services offered by Shenzhen airport in south China's Guangdong Province.

The addition of Zhongshan and Zhuhai brings to nine the number of such services for Shenzhen's airport. Some other locations where this service is available are Huizhou, Hong Kong and Macao. At city check-in locations, passengers can buy tickets and check baggage, then travel by bus to board their flights at Shenzhen airport.

Shenzhen airport started check-in services in other cities this April. According to Huang Chuanqi, chairman of Shenzhen airport, buses between Shenzhen and Huizhou, Dongguan and Hong Kong carry an average of 430, 270 and 300 people a day, respectively.

Shenzhen airport served 15.47 million passengers in the first ten months of this year, up 10.8 percent year-on-year.

Baiyun airport in Guangzhou, Guangdong's capital, was the first domestic carrier in China to offer city check-in services when it opened a facility in Dongguan in 2005. It currently offers at least seven off-site check-in services, including one in Shenzhen.

Airports in some other Chinese cities, such as Dalian, Nanjing and Zhengzhou, have also started city check-in services.
