A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has urged the country's photographers to promote cultural development under the guidance of the 17th National Congress of the CPC.
Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the call at the 7th Congress of the China Photographers Association (CPA), held here from Nov. 24 to 25.
Liu, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, acknowledged the achievements of the association since its 6th Congress in 2002 in serving the functions of liaison, coordination and service, and promoting photographers' solidarity.
He asked photographers to "promote the vigorous development and prosperity of culture" more conscientiously and actively.
Liu also encouraged them to create more products closely related to Chinese people's lives and truthfully reflect China's implementation of reform and opening up. Source: Xinhua
