TibetCulture.net(http://www.tibetculture.net), the official website of China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC) launched its English and Tibetan versions on Jan. 25. On the same day, China Tibet Information Center (hereinafter referred to as CTIC, www.tibet.cn), boasting the largest amount of information related to the Tibet Autonomous Region in Southwest China, has been upgraded.
Since its launch in 2000, CTIC has been offering readers an insight into Tibet in terms of politics, economy, history, culture, travel, religion and so on through its multi-lingual services --- Chinese, English, Tibetan. Now it has become the most influential web for reporting daily happenings in China's Tibet.
After the upgrading, surfers can easily communicate with each other through the platform of blog, BBS and news-comment. Furthermore, overseas surfers can learn Tibetan language by a column "Learn Tibetan Language" in CTIC, the first such column in China.
Moreover, as the first Internet media sponsored for supporting Tibetan antelope as mascot of 2008 Olympics, CTIC launched a sports column for introducing the traditional and modern Tibetan sports as well as greeting the upcoming Olympic Games.
TibetCulture.net, boasting "The Heaven for Experiencing Tibet Online", launched its Chinese version in January 2006 with an aim of showing today's Tibet from a cultural perspective. Now besides its Chinese version, the newly established English and Tibetan versions offer selected columns for surfers from home and abroad to understand a real Tibet on web and get ahead for the internationalization and specialization of Tibet.
China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC) is a non-governmental organization consisting of volunteers from home and abroad who love Tibetan culture and care for its preservation and development. On July 20, 2007, CAPDTC was officially granted as UN Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council.
