According to the latest reserves statistics from the News of the Ministry of Land and Resources, in 2007, we found 62 new large-scale mines containing 17 minerals. They passed China's annual reserves evaluation; and information was filed, registered, and stored. A breakthrough was made in new energy mineral resources reserves.
Preliminary results reveal that China had discovered a total of 62 new large-scale mineral mines. These include 17 kinds of minerals: coal, petroleum, natural gas, iron, manganese, copper, lead, zinc, bauxite, tungsten, molybdenum, gold, silver phosphate, tin, iron sulfur, potassium and salt. Three of the 62 are 100 million-ton oilfields: Jidong South Fort, Daqing Gulong and Changqing Jiyuan. There are also five 30 billion-cubic meter gas fields: Jilin Changling, Changqing Shenmu, Sichuan Guang’an, Tarim Basin Dabei, and Northern Song Nan. There are also 41 new large-scale coal mines; 14 of them hold more than 1 billion tons in reserves.
