By the 17th hour on Sunday, February 3, the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA), the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), the China Charity Federation and their provincial branches as well as various regions across China had received 264 million yuan-worth donations of cash, goods and materials for snowstorm-hit areas, according to relevant MCA sources.
The MCA has received a total donation of 31.34 million yuan for the blizzard-hit areas, including 1 million yuan from software companies in China, 231,620 million yuan from the State Cultural Relics Bureau offices, and 450,000 yuan from the State Development and Planning Commission and, through coordination by the MCA, 29.51 million yuan has been directly transferred to the storm-afflicted areas.
The Red Cross Society of China has received some 18.595 million yuan, including 10.42 million yuan of cash, and about 8.175 million yuan worth of materials.
Moreover, the China Charity Federation received 30 million yuan of donations (including materials to be evaluated in term of money).
Meanwhile, various regions or localities nationwide have received a total of 185 million yuan of donations.
