On the morning of January 19, an Eastern Airlines A340-300 airplane made a successful test flight off the third runway of Pudong Airport. The third runway project at the Pudong Airport, lasting nearly two years now, has been put into operation. This success makes Shanghai the first city to have two airports and four runways.
The third runway will officially open in March, and with a 4Fs capacity, can accommodate a landing by the world's largest aircraft, the A380.
